From the outside, the new CUH looks almost identical to the previous models of the PS4 Pro — of which, for those keeping track, there have been two. However, the back the bulky three-prong PC-style power connector has been quietly swapped for the same slim, standard figure-eight cable that Sony and Microsoft both currently use for their PS4 Slim and Xbox One S consoles.

Long story short, what works for me is to shutdown my PS4 completely I usually leave it in rest mode and turn it back on. Don't suspend, turn it completely off so there are no lights on your PS4.
Then after powering it back on, everything will hopefully sounds good, as it did in my case. For those interested following was my annoying journey. To eliminate the guitar I tried different guitars with my PS4, all had the same issue. Tried to reproduce through my guitar amp, and I could not. So must not be the guitar, and so I bought a new realtone cable from amazon prime now.
Now with new realtone cable delivered, I plugged everything in and Ok, so now I'm thinking is it my PS4? So I plugged the same guitar with the same realtone cable that was giving me issue on my PS4 and plugged it into my PS3 that I still have hocked up.
Popped in my original Rocksmith PS3 disc and It sounds perfect. So by process of elimination I narrowed it down to something on my PS4 not the realtone cable or my guitar. Remembering jnovak-calgary's post about USB ports, I just listened to my inner IT crowd voice and tried turning it off an on again This worked for me and if I see the issue again or anything changes, I will reply to this thread with any updates.

Solved it for me too Thank you so much for taking your time to post your solution. I had the same problem and it was bugging me to no end. Just like you described, powering down solved it for me too.
I don't know if it was necessary, but I also pulled the power cable to ensure that it really was off. From my days messing with PCs I know that some power is still fed to certain items like for instance the network card, even when you powerdown. Thanks a million. This solution almost works for me. After a clean reboot, most of the cracking goes away, but I still hear and occasional pop like every 30 seconds or so.
It is worse in the beginning when enumerating stuff happens. Also some songs with a clean tone seem to pop more. I had exactly the same issue. I usually keep the system in Standby. I noticed it runs pretty hot. However, this might not always be the case and even if you kept your console in a nicely ventilated and clean area, it might still be the well known enemy that causes your PlayStation 4 to be loud and hot: dust. Basically, all you have to do in order to fix a loud PS4 is to clean it and make sure that all dust accumulation is gone.
This is actually something that everybody should do as maintenance every now and then in order to help their console live for as long as possible. Please have in mind that following the steps below will void your warranty. Turn your console upside down and remove the stickers covering the screws at the back, then unscrew the three screws at the bottom. Now you have access to the insides of your console. There are more ways to clean it, but I recommend using a simple cotton swab and clean each blade separately on both sides.
This is time consuming, but does the best job of all the methods and gives you a lot more time until you have to clean it again. Afterwards, I recommend using a compressed air vacuum canned air to blow away all the dust that still remains inside. Set it to the lowest power possible or use a handheld vacuum since those already have less power than regular ones.
After doing this, I recommend letting your PS4 sit for about 30 minutes — we have to do this in order to avoid any potential liquids from the air can, for example damaging the console if we turn it back on immediately.

But due to constant playing games and overheating issue, the fan can make noise inside casing. There are certain common fixes you can try out below, but if this does not help, then try taking it to the official service center. If the console is brand new and it is making noise, then chances are that it might be having some internal fault.
New PS4 making electrical crackling noises
Many users around the web have reported that new consoles are working pretty well even on high end game settings. PS4 Pro reported to get hotter on playing 4K content. You can test this for a while, if the fan is making noise on 4K settings push it to the lower one, or turn off the console after a few hours of gameplay.
Officially the console has no provision for temperature test inside.Andrew camarata wife
Note : It is not confirmed if PS4 Pro melts due to overheating, it has been reported by only few users, could be fake or due to other reasons than 4k Gaming. Avoid keeping anything that blocks the fan ventilator of the console.
Clean out your PS4’s noisy fan already
It would be great to have a AC air flow direct to the console back, which will reduce much impact on the internal fan, and keep the console cooler for longer time. Carry it to the official service center if the noise persist on regular resolution also, not just 4K. Ask for a fan replacement, the existing one might not be functioning well enough to draw out max heat. Thus it is creating a noise, new consoles does not make much sound, but on 4K when higher amount of processing power is consume, more heat is generated.
Many vacuum cleaners come with air suction adjustments. Keep it on low and use it at the back side and openings of console to clean dust clogging from inside. So this is some general things you can do, but the priority must be to take the console to official service center, for a fan replacement, it can be a internal hardware problem that cause so much heating.

Why is it so loud anyway? The first thing you need to know is that a loud fan is not a problem that is unique to the PS4. The fat version of the PS2, as well as the original Xboxalso had fans that were even louder than the PS4. In neither of these cases was a loud fan an impediment to how the consoles performed.
However, we agree that a loud fan can be a nuisance especially when you would rather hear the audio coming from your game. One thing to keep in mind is that a fan gets louder the faster it spins. The cooling fan of the PS4 is meant to lower the temperature of its internal components. Unfortunately, modern games with their beautiful graphics tend to be more demanding of processors, resulting in consoles that heat up faster.
Gamers are probably familiar with spending several hours on the PS4 with the fans getting louder and louder the longer they play. There are also accounts of PS4 consoles starting whisper-quiet and only getting louder after several months or years. In all these cases, a loud PS4 fan can be traced to the fact that it has to spin faster. The cooling fan automatically responds to the console heating up, spinning faster and causing a louder noise. After several years of use, the vents of the PS4 can also have a buildup of dust.
However, dust buildup also reduces the efficiency of the cooling fan. This means that the fan will need to spin faster to achieve the same amount of cooling that could have been possible at a lower speed if there was no dust buildup.
Luckily for PS4 owners, developing a fundamental understanding of the source of the loud fan noise presents several easy solutions to remedy the problem. The easiest solution is to ensure that your PS4 has enough ventilation. The side vents are for air intake, and the rear vents are for exhaust.
Make sure that these areas are free of any obstruction so that the cooling fan can get as much cool air circulated into the PS4 as possible. If you can, clear out the entire area around your PS4, so there is healthy circulation not just inside the console but also around it. For many PS4 owners, their consoles essentially become integrated into their households.
At times, this means that the PS4 ends up surrounded by clothes, bags, and book. Even if these objects do not directly cover the cooling vents, the whole PS4 does heat up, and this heat can accumulate faster if there are objects in contact with the console. You should never place your PS4 console inside a closed cabinet, especially while you are playing it. This is a sure-fire way to heat up your PS4 quickly.
Doing this will not just make your fan louder but will likely also end up causing permanent damage to your PS4. If possible, you should keep the PS4 in a room with a comfortable temperature. Even if you perform all the measures to ensure that your PS4 has enough ventilation, dust will still inevitably build up in its vents and all of its small nooks and crannies.
Without taking apart your PS4, the best way to get rid of this dust buildup is by using a can of compressed air. Before you do this, make sure that the PS4 has been shut down and unplugged. Anytime that you are using compressed air, you need to make sure that you are holding the can upright, so you do not end up releasing the moisture that is inherently found in any can of compressed air.
But with that super-small footprint comes one serious drawback.Advantages and disadvantages of smartphones ppt
The ducted fan tends to trap dust, and after a while, it will have to spin ridiculously fast to keep your system cool. A fast fan is a loud fan, and the fan inside the PS4 — especially the original model released in — is about as loud as they come. Note: Sony explicitly states, in no uncertain terms, that disassembling your PS4 will void its warranty.
As someone who has had their original PS4 repaired under warranty, I value that service. Proceed at your own risk. Cleaning the fan on the original PS4 is the most troublesome of the bunch.
These bits are almost certainly available at your friendly local hardware store, or for a pittance on Amazon. Once you have the correct bit, go ahead and unplug all the cables from your console.
Back those screws out and put them in a safe place. Then, flip your PS4 upside down and remove the bottom plastic cowling. The fan is exposed, so hit it from every angle with some canned air. Take special care to also clean out the grills along the left and right side of the console as well. When putting things back together, be aware that the screws go in perpendicular to the angled backside of the PS4. The latest iterations of the PS4 do not require tools to clean the fan. Again, unplug your PS4 and place it on a clean, flat, smooth surface.
You may need to start at one corner, then the other, to break it free. You will also need to back it out, as above, to get around the sharp angles along the opposite back edge of the device. With the top cowling off, the fan is exposed. As above, use canned air to clean it out, and take special care to dust out any other intakes where dust could get trapped.
